For my Photostory, I chose to detail ways to prepare for Hurricane Florence. I thought of things that would be necessary to prepare for the storm, so I decided to take a picture of my roommate with a case of water we purchased the week before the storm came, as well as our pantry that was fully stocked. My favorite shot would probably be the one of me looking out the window. My roommate took this shot from multiple angles, and I chose this particular shot because it captured my reactions to the storm perfectly. I then took these pictures into Photoshop and applied various adjustment layers to them. For example, I applied a brightness/contrast, as well as a levels adjustment to the long shot of the door, as a way to balance the amount of light in the original image. I applied a black and white adjustment layer to the portrait shot of me looking out the window because I felt that a black and white adjustment would best portray the situation. 

Once edited, I took my photos and laid them out in InDesign. Initially, I had challenges with resizing my photos, as you have to hold down shift and command while clicking and dragging the image. After resizing my photos, I added text boxes and gave descriptions of what was pictured in each shot. Before exporting, I realized that the shot with my roommate and the water did not meet the 300 effective ppi minimum, so I will need to blow it up in Photoshop for my final submission.

Fresh Thoughts: Advanced Premiere For this blog, we were tasked with speeding up/slowing down certain parts of a video, as well as using keying and overlaying pngs to add animations with the use of keyframes. The video I chose to use was the bottle flip that we filmed in class.  The first thing I did was unlink the video and audio. I did this so I could eliminate specific parts of the audio, while keeping the full video. Next, I used the razor tool to isolate specific clips of peoples faces. With the use of the scale/position effects in the effect controls, I zoomed-in at specific points. For one zoom, I added a sleepy face emoji and faded it in with the opacity option, and added a "Bruh" sound effect and title. I used an opacity to quickly bring in the title. Blog Post #2: That's What She Said

Fresh Thoughts: That's What She Said For this assignment, I took 2 clips from "The Office", and combined them with the use of the razor tool. The first clip, which is much of my video, is of Jim dressing as Dwight and asking Dwight a series of odd questions relating to bears. The second clip is a compilation of Michael's catchphrase, "That's what she said". In my edited version, I used the razor tool to take out parts of Jim and Dwight's argument, and replaced them with Michael saying "That's what she said". The most challenging part, surprisingly, was finding a way to put all my clips into this blog post. Since my edited version was deemed "too big" by Blogger, I copied the links of all 3 of my clips that are in Google Drive and pasted them here.  If I wanted to, I could post my edited video to YouTube and not be cited for copyright violation, as it is a parody.
