Blog Post 3: Photostory Rough Draft

Fresh Thoughts: Photostory Rough Draft For my Photostory, I chose to detail ways to prepare for Hurricane Florence. I thought of things that would be necessary to prepare for the storm, so I decided to take a picture of my roommate with a case of water we purchased the week before the storm came, as well as our pantry that was fully stocked. My favorite shot would probably be the one of me looking out the window. My roommate took this shot from multiple angles, and I chose this particular shot because it captured my reactions to the storm perfectly. I then took these pictures into Photoshop and applied various adjustment layers to them. For example, I applied a brightness/contrast, as well as a levels adjustment to the long shot of the door, as a way to balance the amount of light in the original image. I applied a black and white adjustment layer to the portrait shot of me looking out the window because I felt that a black and white adjustment would best portray the situation.

Fresh Thoughts: Still Image Video Draft For my still image video, my topic is how to make popcorn. I started by taking pictures of the essentials for making a bag of popcorn: a microwave, a bowl, and the popcorn itself. I made sure to get as many horizontal shots as I could, as they would be easier to resize in Premiere. However, I noticed that I had one vertical shot, which was difficult to resize. After resizing my images, I recorded a voiceover and edited it in Audition. In my edits, I added sound effects of popcorn popping and the beeping of a microwave. I exported my mixdown to an mp3 and added it to my Premiere sequence. Then, I added cross dissolves to make my images transition smoothly, as well as changing the length of time my images would be shown. Finally, I exported my video and uploaded it to YouTube. I am becoming more comfortable with editing audio in Audition, and utilizing the fade in/out on sound effects. I am extremely comfortable with editing videos in Premiere,
