Accessible Video

Fresh Thoughts: Accessible Video Introduction: To me, accessibility in media is any kind of media that can be interacted with by anybody, no matter their disability. I am uploading 3 different versions of this project: a regular video with both video and audio components, a video with no audio components for hearing impaired audiences, and an audio recording with no video components for visually impaired audiences.  Video/Audio: Video Only: Audio Only:

Mr. Kraft, I don't Feel so Good

Image
Meme Time Introduction: For this blog, we were tasked with using Photoshop to create a meme. I decided to try my hand at making a Thanos disintegration meme (also known as the "I don't feel so good" meme). I decided to base my meme off of the recent Super Bowl. I made something similar on my old laptop, but the recreated version turned out to be much better than the original. Process: The start of my meme was very simple. I used images of Tom Brady, Robert Kraft, Thanos, and Nick Foles, and opened them up in Photoshop. For my layout, I put Brady in the top left, followed by Kraft, Thanos, and another image of Brady (I added effects to this final image). Next, I used the quick selection tool and selected Foles' body, and deleted it, leaving his head. I dragged his head into my layout and placed his head on Thanos' body. Next, I found an image of the Lombardi Trophy, and opened it in Photoshop. I used the quick select to delete the white background, and m

Advanced Premiere

Fresh Thoughts: Advanced Premiere For this blog, we were tasked with speeding up/slowing down certain parts of a video, as well as using keying and overlaying pngs to add animations with the use of keyframes. The video I chose to use was the bottle flip that we filmed in class.  The first thing I did was unlink the video and audio. I did this so I could eliminate specific parts of the audio, while keeping the full video. Next, I used the razor tool to isolate specific clips of peoples faces. With the use of the scale/position effects in the effect controls, I zoomed-in at specific points. For one zoom, I added a sleepy face emoji and faded it in with the opacity option, and added a "Bruh" sound effect and title. I used an opacity to quickly bring in the title. For the actual bottle flip, I started by slowing the clip down to 25% by using the speed/duration option. I decided to zoom in on the bottle and add an explosion on the bottle after it landed with the use of the co

FRESH THOUGHTS: THE SCENE Editing Process For this blog post, I decided to use a popular clip from "The Office", where Michael turns around and looks at Toby and screams "NO GOD PLEASE NO!" The first step in my editing process was unlinking the audio and video in my original clip. I then proceeded to delete the audio. Next, I recorded myself screaming Michael's lines, and synced it up with the audio to the best of my ability. When looking for a sound effect, I thought, "What could make this have an element of drama?" I chose to use a dramatic sound effect when Michael turned to face Toby. For background music, I added the theme song of "The Office" to give the video an upbeat vibe. When listening to my voiceover, I noticed that I had some background noise present. I attempted to eliminate this noise with the Adaptive Noise Reduction effect.  Conclusion This blog was more challenging than previous blogs for sure. I had to play with

Swatches

Fresh Thoughts: Swatches and Nameplates Overview Throughout the swatch making process, I had a lot of fun playing with the colors, tints, and fonts for the nameplates. I've always been good at finding good combinations of colors, so I enjoyed making the swatches.  Inspiration The inspiration for my swatches came from my wall, which has the jerseys of a few of my favorite athletes: Todd Gurley, Sidney Crosby, Harry Kane, and Matt Stafford (I have a love/hate relationship with Stafford). Sports jerseys always have colors that pop and are easily noticeable.  Swatches My first set of swatches are based on the grey of my Stafford jersey. I took the original shade of grey, and made a 50% tint, to make a lighter grey. Finally, I made a 25% tint, to create a true light grey color. My second set of swatches are based on the gold in my Gurley and Crosby jerseys, as they are practically identical. I took the original shade of gold, and made a 75% tint. Finally,

Still Image Video

Fresh Thoughts: Still Image Video For my still image video, I chose "How to Make Popcorn" as my topic. Using Premiere and Audition, I used original shots and audio to display the simple steps required to make a bag of popcorn.  Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1D22AcGt8w
